Postdoctoral Associate – Astrophysics (Rutgers-CCA Flatiron Research Fellow)
We invite applications for a postdoctoral research position starting on or after 07/01/2026, jointly with Center for Computational Astrophysics (CCA) at Simons Flatiron Institute. Applications are due January 10, 2026. Responsibilities
Conduct research on star formation, galaxy formation, interstellar medium, and fluid dynamics at galaxy–interstellar medium interfaces. Analyze large observational or numerical datasets, apply machine learning, and run/analyze numerical simulations. Develop independent projects, mentor graduate students, attend journal clubs, and participate in observational work. Attend weekly visits between Rutgers and CCA communities, present results, and contribute to collaborative projects. Qualifications
Ph.D. in astronomy, physics, or related field by start date. Proficiency in analysis of large datasets, machine learning, and numerical simulations. Experience in star formation, galaxy formation, interstellar medium, or fluid dynamics is preferred. Strong communication and collaborative skills. Benefits
