Foundry Furnace Helper

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred; may be substituted by experience.
Personal Characteristics:
Able to meet deadlines and be accountable for quality and quantity. Works flexible hours with a history of dependability illustrated by a strong attendance record. Comfortable using a team approach to problem solving, has a strong sense of urgency, is a motivated self‑starter with the ability to work independently, and maintains a positive work atmosphere through respectful communication with customers, clients, co‑workers and supervisors.
Principal Area of Responsibility The foundry furnace helper will train to perform the necessary operations of a Vacuum Casting Technician.
Specific Duties
Operate all vacuum furnaces – equiax, D.S. and single crystal – and accurately record all necessary information.
Ram crucibles on all furnaces, change over on D.S. susceptors/coils and melt coils.
Perform all responsibilities of the furnace helper.
Execute all duties according to S.O.P.’s, Engineering Procedures and Special Lot Instructions.
Meet the specific requirements of the efficiency standards.
Ensure that the Foundry Department’s high standard of housekeeping is met.
Maintain thorough knowledge of all production processes and materials.
Organize work for smooth operations and ensure required documentation is maintained.
Perform other duties as designated by the supervisor.
Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co‑workers and supervisors.
Any and all additional responsibilities as required or assigned.
Physical And Mental Demands

Ability to handle high stress associated with high activity and tight deadlines.
