The Library Associate is a full-time position that supports daily library operations, including being assigned specific areas to specialize in based on their qualifications, interests, and the needs of the library. The duties of the Library Associate may include: Providing friendly and efficient service to library patrons; Planning and leading programs and outreach for children, teens, and adults; Library collection development and maintenance; Supporting marketing and communication, including developing and distributing materials; Regular cleaning of the library building; and Performing other duties as assigned. Duties and expectations are based on the Strategic Plan of Service and set by the Library Director. This is a full-time position with a flexing schedule that includes some weeknights and weekends. Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; degree preferred. Commitment to patron-oriented library service, community involvement, and outreach. Experience providing excellent customer service. Strong communication skills, including ability to relate to patrons and work as part of a team. Able to organize tasks, manage multiple priorities, and pay attention to detail. Flexibility to adapt to a variety of tasks in a changing environment. Comfortable with computers and other technology preferred. Training provided. Familiarity with library service or program coordination preferred. Training provided. Able to perform the essential functions of the position, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodations. Must be able to travel to local community locations for library programs and events; reliable transportation required. Compensation and Benefits

Wages start at $16.50/hour, commensurate with experience. Paid time off, paid sick leave, and holiday pay included, and health insurance available. Professional development opportunities included.
