Job Description The Delivery Driver is responsible for stocking ingredients, receiving and processing orders, keeping inventory records, maintaining cleanliness, and delivering products to customers. The role includes carrying flyers and door hangers, navigating various delivery terrains, and ensuring safe and timely service.

Responsibilities

Stock ingredients from the delivery area to storage, work area, and walk‑in cooler.

Receive and process telephone orders.

Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.

Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.

Deliver product by car to customer door; deliver flyers and door hangers.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record that meets company standards.

Access to an insured vehicle available for delivery.

Training Orientation and training are provided on the job.

Communication Skills Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions; verbal communication with customers and co‑workers; processing orders over the phone or in person.

Essential Functions / Skills

Perform basic arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, divide) accurately and quickly (calculator allowed).

Make correct monetary change.

Strong verbal, written, and telephone order‑processing skills.

Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers for rapid, precise movements.

Enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.

Navigate maps and locate addresses within the delivery area; handle adverse terrain, multi‑story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites while carrying product.

Work Conditions Exposure to varying and sometimes adverse weather when removing trash and performing other outside tasks. In‑store temperatures range from 36°F in the cooler to 90°F and above in some work areas; may experience sudden temperature changes. Exposure to fumes from food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped quarters (e.g., walk‑in cooler), hot surfaces/tools up to 500°F, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts.

Physical & Environmental Requirements

Standing: Most tasks performed from a standing position; walking surfaces include ceramic tile “bricks” with linoleum. Work surface height 36‑48”.

Walking: Generally short distances; travel between store and vehicle and to customer locations.

Sitting: Paperwork normally completed at a desk or table.

Lifting: Bulk deliveries (cases up to 50 lbs, dimensions up to 3’×1.5’) unloaded with hand trucks; cases stacked on shelves up to 72”.

Carrying: Large cans (≈3 lbs 7 oz); pizza sauce (~30 lbs); trays of pizza dough (≈12 lbs each) carried three at a time over short distances.

Driving: Deliver pizzas within a designated area; may make several deliveries per shift.

Pushing: Move trays on dollies (stack 24‑30”; force up to 7.5 lbs); trays may also be pulled.

Climbing: Navigate stairs or ladders to change prices, wash walls, perform maintenance; may navigate five or more flights of stairs during delivery.

Stooping/Bending: Forward bending at waist at the pizza assembly station (≈40‑45 seconds at a time, repeated continuously); also at front counter when stocking.

Crouching/Squatting: Occasionally to stock shelves and clean low areas.

Reaching: Continuous up, down, and forward; up to 72” to operate oven controls, change sign prices, lift/lower objects from shelves; down to scoop cornmeal from barrels or wash dishes; forward to obtain toppings, clean surfaces, answer phones.
