Overview Tradesmen International

is immediately hiring experienced

Boiler Operator Utilities Mechanics

for projects located in the

Greensboro, NC area . This is a full time opportunity and the pay rate is

up to $32/hour

based on experience and skill level. If you are a Boiler Operator Utilities Mechanic eager to master your skills while working alongside our accomplished Craft Professionals, this is your chance to advance your career!

Job Scope: Periodically check boilers

Ensures steam quantity and quality are sufficient for air compressor operation and pneumatic controls

Verifies adequate air supply for combustion to prevent unburned combustibles in boilers

Cleans and descales boilers as directed by the plant supervisor

Completes one chemical analysis test per shift for condensate water, boiler water, water softener

Distributes chemicals into feed units based on analysis test results

Takes hourly readings and logs findings for Equipment gauges, motors, pumps, chemical tanks, fuel oil tanks, D.A. tanks, etc.

Inspects equipment, valves, and controls before turning over operations to the next shift lead Regularly checks gauges, meters, and control panels to ensure boiler operates within safe limits Lubricates equipment and replaces worn/damaged parts as needed

Tests boiler water for pH, dissolved solids, and other parameters to maintain proper water chemistry and prevent scaling/corrosion Maintains accurate records of boiler operations (temperatures, pressures, maintenance tasks)

Sends hourly logs via email to VBMI customer.

Acts quickly to adjust controls, shut down equipment, or call for assistance as needed Follows all safety protocols, wears appropriate PPE, and conducts safety inspections Reports issues, coordinates maintenance, and shares critical boiler operation updates with supervisors and team members Other tasks as assigned Requirements: High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience
