Campus Recruiter

Overview

The Campus Recruiter drives the recruitment and selection efforts for the internship program in collaboration with the broader internship team. This role is responsible for developing and executing campus, internal, and online recruiting strategies that align with the network’s selection, contract, and conversion goals. The Campus Recruiter analyzes recruitment metrics, recommends improvements, and ensures accurate records in the Internet Collaborative Information Management Systems (iCIMS). This position plays a key role in fostering a positive internship culture by engaging office staff and leadership to support and promote the program.  The recruiter’s efforts contribute to the overall success of the program, from sourcing high-quality candidates to facilitating a smooth transition from internship to full-time opportunities.

Primary Responsibilities Sourcing
  • Build and develop effective referral sources:
    • In-office: current and former interns, FRs, staff, leaders
    • On-campus: COIs, professors, department heads, athletics, career services, student organizations
  • Actively participate in campus clubs and organizations to promote and brand Northwestern Mutual
  • Coordinate advertising and marketing strategies on campus including the career services website, online job postings and advertising to include ads, direct mail, community events, etc.
  • Develop relationships with other Northwestern Mutual recruiters to share leads and best practices
  • Prepare and maintain recruiting and marketing materials
  • Determine, schedule and coordinate on-campus recruiting activities
Selection
  • Specific selection process accountability to include but not limited to screening candidates, conducting initial interviews, administering selection tools and guiding candidates through the selection process
  • Review resumes and schedule initial interviews
  • Communicate effectively about information and language regarding all aspects of the financial representative career and each step of the selection process
Accountability, Tracking, and Analysis
  • Report weekly campus recruiting activity to leadership team
  • Develop proficiency and use of home office-supported software to maintain candidate databases and accurate records of prospects to ensure efficiency of the selection process
  • Assist in the coordination of leadership team meetings and the preparation of activity/results reports
  • Analyze recruiting ratios to identify inefficiencies in selection process; establish and implement improvements
  • May include the oversight of contract and licensing responsibilities
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 0-3 years professional work experience, preferably in sales, recruiting, or related field
  • Experience in the financial services industry a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to work professionally as a team member and with all levels of people
  • Experience with prospecting; generating leads via phone or face-to-face interactions preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of sourcing platforms (LinkedIn, Indeed, Handshake)
  • Strong network of personal/professional advocates and campus relationships

 

Compensation: $50,000-$55,000 with bonus opportunities
