full time, daytime hours (10am-6:30pm) and every other weekend availability needed.

About the Role:

We are seeking a Housekeeper/Janitor to join our team at New City Supportive Living. The primary end result of this position is to ensure that our community is clean, safe, and comfortable for our residents. As a Housekeeper/Janitor, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the community's common areas, including hallways, restrooms, and dining areas. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all cleaning supplies and equipment are properly stored and maintained.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in housekeeping or janitorial services
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a senior living community
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage, and disposal methods
  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor buffers, and carpet cleaners

Responsibilities:

  • Clean and maintain the community's common areas, including hallways, restrooms, and dining areas
  • Ensure that all cleaning supplies and equipment are properly stored and maintained
  • Report any maintenance or safety issues to the appropriate personnel
  • Assist with resident move-ins and move-outs as needed
  • Provide excellent customer service to our residents and their families

Skills:

As a Housekeeper/Janitor, you will use your attention to detail and time management skills to ensure that our community is clean and safe for our residents. You will also use your communication and interpersonal skills to provide excellent customer service to our residents and their families. Additionally, you will use your knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment to properly maintain and store all supplies and equipment. Finally, you will use your ability to work independently and as part of a team to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
