POSITION SUMMARY:

Porter-Starke offers a full range of care for adults, families, adolescents, and children with mental health or substance abuse issues. Our compassionate team of mental health professionals develop customized care plans that ensure the best possible care for each person's unique situation.

Porter-Starke Services, Inc. is a Community Mental Health Center (CMHC) based in Valparaiso and serves northwest Indiana with outpatient offices in Portage and Knox and a Recovery Center (OTP) in Valparaiso and LaPorte. Porter-Starke also operates Marram Health Center, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with two offices in Gary and Hebron.

Qualifications:

• A current license to practice medicine in the State of Indiana.
• A current license in the United States to prescribe medications.
• Completion of an accredited Training Residency in Psychiatry.
• Eligibility for and/or certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
• Positive references from past professors and/or supervisors.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conducts professional practice that is in compliance with the rules, regulations and by-laws of Porter-Starke Services and the standard of care that exists in Northwest Indiana and the Greater Chicago metropolitan area.
• Assists in peer review and other assignments.
• Attends to the required continuing education elements for the specialty certification and licensure of physicians and psychiatrists.
• Maintains and completes clinical record keeping duties as described in either the Medical Staff By-laws or in compliance with the organization’s policies and procedures.
• Maintains credentials as required by certifying/licensing body. Participates in professional development and in-service programs as required by position.
