Job Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team in Covington, Louisiana. As part of a dynamic and collaborative environment, you will play a key role in supporting accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting tasks. This short-term contract to permanent position offers opportunities for growth and development within our organization.
Responsibilities:
• Process vendor invoices and manage disbursement filing to ensure accurate accounts payable records.
• Handle daily invoicing, credit applications, and cash receipt processing for accounts receivable operations.
• Assist in general accounting tasks, including general ledger reconciliations and month-end closing activities.
• Verify and correct transaction documents, initiating necessary adjustments to entries and related records.
• Classify expenditures and assign appropriate accounting codes for accurate financial documentation.
• Compile and prepare financial reports using data from various sources to support organizational needs.
• Record financial data in journals, ledgers, and registers using manual or electronic systems.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies by analyzing potential sources of errors and preparing correction entries.
• Support budget monitoring by verifying adjustments and transfers to maintain accurate financial tracking.
• Participate in special projects and provide additional administrative or accounting assistance as needed.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is preferred.• Proficiency in data entry with excellent attention to detail.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks is highly desirable.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills to manage various accounting tasks effectively.
• Basic knowledge of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.
• Ability to reconcile accounts and identify discrepancies.
• Entry-level candidates are welcome, provided they demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow.
• Exceptional communication skills to collaborate with team members and vendors.
