Accounting Manager

Location: Hybrid (Portland West Metro Area)

Compensation: $100,000 base salary (DOE)

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our Consulting team. This role is ideal for a well‑rounded accounting professional who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys partnering directly with clients across multiple industries. You’ll oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations, manage month‑end close processes, and provide meaningful financial insights that drive business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee general ledger, month‑end, and year‑end close processes for multiple client entities.
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Manage and mentor accounting staff or consultants as needed.
• Develop and implement internal controls, accounting policies, and process improvements.
• Coordinate with client leadership to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Ensure accuracy in reconciliations, journal entries, and reporting deliverables.
• Partner with external auditors and tax preparers during annual reviews.
• Provide strategic recommendations to improve accounting systems and procedures.
• Stay up to date on accounting regulations and industry trends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or management responsibilities.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and full‑cycle accounting.
• Experience in multiple industries is preferred (manufacturing, construction, non‑profit, etc.).
• Proficiency in accounting systems (QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage deadlines, and communicate effectively with executive leadership.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
• Tax preparation or audit experience a plus.
