Territory Development Manager – Field Sales

Our field sales team is the face‑to‑face contact with our customers. The Territory Development Manager drives sustainable business growth via Operators, Chains, and Trade Partners. Responsibilities include managing a sales territory with a company vehicle and executing a multi‑touchpoint contact strategy for generating demand and delivering a seamless customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with Local Chain Account and Operator Customers; deliver business targets for the assigned territory including turnover, reach & penetration, digital engagement, demos, sampling, etc.
  • Execute Customer Business Plans (CBP), win & retain funnel, contact matrix, and multi‑touchpoint contact strategy both online and face‑to‑face.
  • Translate business insights into solution selling, highlighting Unilever’s leadership ahead of food trends.
  • Guide customers toward the right solution by preparing menu‑specific recommendations based on kitchen operation and consumer data.
  • Develop and execute Joint Business Planning (JBP) with selected trade partners, including trade terms, sell‑out activities, DSRs, and key KPI ownership.
  • Collaborate with Food Solutions Trade & e‑Comm teams to implement promotions, ensuring adequate stock availability and activity to drive sell‑out.
  • Ensure timely submission and settlement of distributor trade claims.
  • Drive 100% engagement on automated warm leads and targeted leads via CRM.
  • Convert leads in the territory to meet penetration strike rate targets based on automated account and SKU prioritization.
  • Promote digital buying behavior via e‑commerce platforms (webshop, trade partner webshop, pure players). Drive social media engagement and attendance of UFS webinars.
  • Continuously enrich operator data for personalized content and implement omni‑channel (on and offline) contact strategy for the territory.

Required Qualifications

  • 4‑Year college degree or 2+ years of culinary degree experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in foodservice sales.
  • Proven track record of developing strategic relationships with decision makers for both operator and distributor customers.
  • Proficient and motivated user of our systems (Blacksmith/Forge, Salesforce.com, Power BI).
  • Strong negotiation skills and business acumen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Additional experience in the culinary industry.
  • Passion for driving results and strong interest in the food industry.

Pay

Pay range: $69,360 – $104,040.

Bonus & Long‑Term Incentive

Position is bonus eligible and LTI eligible.
