The Hawaii Yacht Club (HYC), a nonprofit, member‑based organization with a long‑standing maritime tradition, is seeking a reliable and detail‑oriented Part‑Time Office Clerk to support daily administrative operations.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a professional yet community‑oriented environment and is comfortable handling a variety of clerical and member‑service tasks.
Position Overview
The Part‑Time Office Clerk provides administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the Club office and positive engagement with our membership.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet members, guests, and vendors in a professional and courteous manner
- Answer phones, respond to emails, and manage general correspondence
- Assist with membership records, data entry, and filing
- Support Board communications, meeting preparation, and document distribution
- Process basic invoices, payments, and administrative transactions
- Coordinate with staff, volunteers, and committees as needed
- Perform other clerical and administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Prior office or administrative experience preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with email, word processing, and basic spreadsheets
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information
- Experience in a nonprofit, membership‑based, or hospitality organization is a plus
- Part‑time position
- Office hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Schedule to be determined within office hours
- On‑site at the Hawaii Yacht Club
- Pay rate: $20 per hour
