Senior Data Analyst, Data Products

Join Hearst’s Enterprise Data Team for a hybrid role in New York City reporting to the VP of Audience Analytics.

About The Role

Develop data products (tables, dashboards, analysis) for audience insights, identity resolution, and content performance. Partner with Product and Engineering to build best‑in‑class solutions, understand user behavior, and measure business impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead data analyses across digital product performance and advertising effectiveness, presenting findings to technical and executive stakeholders.
  • Design, execute, and maintain scalable data models and dashboards, formalizing ad‑hoc requests into repeatable products.
  • Build reports and dashboards to measure identity‑resolution KPIs and conduct audience segmentation to inform targeting and optimization.
  • Act as trusted advisor, strengthening relationships with data, product, and engineering leads across Hearst Consumer Media.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • 5‑8 years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, data science, or data engineering.
  • Expert‑level SQL with large‑scale warehouse experience (Redshift, BigQuery).
  • Advanced BI tools skills (Looker, Tableau) and translating insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Experience in identity and audience measurement solutions.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem‑solving, storytelling, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, lead cross‑functional initiatives, and influence stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with digital media and publishing landscape, including programmatic and cross‑platform measurement.

Compensation & Benefits

USD $140,000 – $155,000 per year in New York City. Hearst offers medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401(k), paid holidays, PTO, employee assistance, and more.
