Insight Global is seeking a highly experienced Enterprise Infrastructure Architect to lead the design and implementation of a secure, scalable hybrid cloud infrastructure. This
6 month contract
role is critical to the department’s transition from on-premise systems to a hybrid model using Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS). The architect will serve as a senior technical advisor and mentor, providing hands‑on leadership, structured knowledge transfer, and expert‑level support across cloud and on‑prem environments.
On‑site 5 days a week in Santa Ana, CA.
Required Skills & Experience
8+ years in enterprise infrastructure roles with hybrid/cloud focus
Expert‑level knowledge of:
Storage systems (SAN, NAS, Object Storage)
Identity and access management
Strong understanding of CJIS, NIST, or FedRAMP frameworks
Proven experience mentoring technical teams and delivering structured training
Background in public‑sector or regulated IT environments
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience supporting law enforcement, justice, or public safety agencies
Familiarity with RMS, CAD, body camera/evidence systems, or large data ingestion
Azure Solutions Architect Expert
AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities Architecture & Strategic Planning
Design and lead the implementation of hybrid cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, on‑prem).
Define integration strategies for legacy and cloud‑native systems.
Develop infrastructure standards, lifecycle strategies, and modernization roadmaps.
Infrastructure Operations & SME Duties
Act as Level 4 technical expert for infrastructure, networking, and virtualization.
Provide hands‑on leadership in system implementation, maintenance, and optimization.
Deliver after‑hours support during migrations, outages, and critical events.
Mentor IT staff on Microsoft 365, Intune, Azure Backup, and Endpoint Manager.
Security & Compliance
Design secure architectures aligned with CJIS, NIST, and local/state law enforcement standards.
Oversee identity and access management (AD, Azure AD, Entra ID, AWS IAM, MFA, RBAC).
Manage PKI infrastructure and ensure secure connectivity and auditability.
Lead phased migration of workloads to Azure and AWS.
Architect hybrid networking (VPN, SD‑WAN, ExpressRoute, Direct Connect).
Documentation, Training & Support
Maintain detailed documentation (diagrams, SOPs, runbooks, recovery plans).
Conduct formal and informal training sessions for internal IT staff.
Prepare compliance documentation for audits and internal reviews.
