Job Description
The Electrician is responsible for operating, repairing, inspecting, servicing, troubleshooting and maintaining building electrical systems at CMI’s customer site located in Washington, DC.
Key Job Functions
Responsible for testing and repair of the electrical systems
Responsible for electrical preventive maintenance
Installs/repairs a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment
Works from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications, locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment, working standard computations related to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment, and using a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments.
Qualifications
Electricians shall possess a minimum of a Journeyman's card for at least 5 years of recent (within the past 7 years) experience in the maintenance and repair of equipment and systems comparable in a critical environment.
Electricians shall possess all required registrations, certifications, and licenses required by State and local jurisdictions.
Must provide a satisfactory means for contact after normal working hours.
Must be able to lift/move heavy objects (50 pounds), climb vertical ladders, work at heights (50 feet), operate forklifts and other lifts, distinguish colors and be proficient in the use of common hand and power tools.
Shall demonstrate a good working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, fire alarm, and electrical skills.
Good spoken and written communication skills.
Requires occasional work at all customer facilities in the Washington DC area.
Shall be available to work overtime for special projects or events and shall be available on an emergency basis.
Must be able to pass a government background check
