Human Resources Business Partner

– NewCold Join our team as a Human Resources Business Partner and help shape the future of food supply logistics. With a focus on advanced robotics and sustainable operations, NewCold connects major food manufacturers with retailers and food service providers across a nationwide network of cold storage facilities.

Position Overview Under the guidance of the Regional Human Resources Manager and Site Manager, the HRBP supports day‑to‑day HR activities at the NewCold Tacoma location. This role will manage recruitment, payroll, employee orientation, training, and compliance initiatives for our warehouse and distribution teams.

Key Responsibilities

Build and maintain relationships with front‑line managers and supervisors, serving as a primary point of contact for daily administrative HR activities.

Collaborate with the HR Regional team and Site Managers on core HR functions including performance management, learning and development, talent management, and employee engagement.

Apply knowledge of local employment laws and company policies to support employees and resolve inquiries.

Process and oversee payroll for hourly and salaried staff using ADP.

Partner with hiring managers to manage job postings via Cornerstone ATS, source candidates, conduct interviews, schedule and extend offers, and oversee onboarding of new hires.

Utilize data to inform decision‑making and recommend enhancements to data collection and monitoring processes.

Ensure timely implementation of HR processes, policies, projects, and employee events while maintaining compliance with legal and company standards.

Stay informed on market best practices and advise site leaders accordingly.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field.

• Minimum three (3) years of progressive HR generalist or functional specialization experience.

• Prior manufacturing or warehouse experience preferred.

• HR certification (SHRM or HRCI) preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• General HR body of knowledge and adeptness at multi‑tasking with strong organizational skills.

• Proven expertise in employee relations, diversity & inclusion, compensation practices, performance management, and federal/state employment laws.

• Ability to handle confidential information and difficult situations diplomatically.

• High level of collaboration, emotional intelligence, self‑motivation, and analytical thinking.

• Experience leading projects in a matrixed environment, with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

• Multilingual capability preferred.
