Job Summary The Certified Nursing Assistant or Patient Care Assistant (PCA) works as a member of the patient care team, under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN). The PCA proficiently performs all aspects of the role, supporting the RN with clinical tasks such as blood glucose monitoring, completing EKGs, applying simple dressings, using aseptic technique, and responding to medical emergencies with CPR and AED skills. The PCA responds to the needs of patients and family members and actively participates in the efficient operation of the unit, ensuring patient and family centered care. Prior CNA/PCA experience is preferred.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED certificate required.

Current Certified Nursing Assistant license required.

AHA Heartsaver, CPR and AED program required.

Prior PCA/CNA experience preferred.
