Job title: Juvenile Rehabilitation Specialist Location: Snoqualmie, WA Closes: Wednesday, January 14, 2026 Salary: $66,372.00 - $87,048.00 Yearly. The salary does not include an additional 5% premium pay for employees working in King County or an on-site 24/7 facility 5% premium. We have multiple vacancies.

The Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) is accepting applications for a Juvenile Rehabilitation Specialist to cooperatively work within the Echo Glen Children’s Center therapeutic treatment model, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). The specialist position ensures services are developmentally appropriate, trauma informed, racial equity-based and culturally relevant.

The Opportunity: You will provide oversight and coordinate the provision of various services to young people in Juvenile Rehabilitation care. These services are dependent on the type of specialist, but may include mental health, youth who sexually offend (YSO), religious, and volunteer coordination for the campus. You may support the various contractors to ensure they are fulfilling services on campus.

Some of what you will do:

Perform the intake and screening process for new residents assigned to Echo Glen by completing all the legal intake assessments and screens.

Perform a thorough review of case files, informing providers of the level and type of specialized treatments needed.

Provide technical assistance to case managers regarding the specialized population.

Participate in the contractor and volunteer onboarding process.

Provide supervision of contractors or volunteers during delivery of service, ensuring they are operating within their scope and role.

Communicate with volunteers and contractors about services and respond in a timely manner to their inquiries.

Provide continuous assistance in evaluating the need for additional contractors and volunteers to support residents.

Assist in various data collection throughout the year.

Develop and maintain equipment, training materials and visuals for the campus related to the position.

Attend living unit staff meetings to ensure communication, familiarize yourself with the population in each unit and provide resources to staff.

Required qualifications: An equivalent combination of education and experience totaling six years.

OR

A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution AND two years of professional experience in casework, counseling, probation and parole, social services, planning, directing, and/or facilitating youth group activities or experience in a related field.

OR

One year as a Juvenile Rehabilitation Residential Counselor (JRRC), Juvenile Rehabilitation Community Counselor (JRCC) or Juvenile Rehabilitation Counselor 2 (JRC2).

AND

The ability to take action to learn and grow.

The ability to take action to meet the needs of others.

Note: A Master’s degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Social Sciences, or in a related field will substitute for one year of experience.

In addition to those required qualifications, our ideal applicant will also have some or all of the following: Previously demonstrated experience or understanding of:

Treatment and intervention principles and practices.

Ability to relate to clients from diverse backgrounds and cultural groups.

Knowledge of group behavior and dynamics, societal trends and influences related to juvenile delinquency.

Adolescent development and juvenile rehabilitation practices and principles.

Providing cognitive/behavior therapeutic interventions.

Basic juvenile correctional system, rehabilitation objectives in juvenile institutions, basic interviewing and counseling theories and techniques, basic concepts, fundamentals and principles of individual and group behaviors, introductory psychology of deviant behavior and crisis intervention methods and techniques.

Supervision and Lead techniques.

Report writing.

Ability to obtain pertinent information during interviews, assist in rehabilitation of juvenile offenders, implement counseling techniques, apply rules, regulations and procedures, appraise situations and remain calm and in control in crisis situations and de‑escalation situations.
