General Description The Dean of Vocational Instruction (DVI) is responsible for planning, developing, coordinating, and assessing the effectiveness of vocational programs reporting to the Vice President of Instruction (VPI) of Wharton County Junior College (WCJC). The DVI oversees these educational programs to ensure compliance with state and regional accreditation and certification standards and meet any State and/or Federal agency guidelines.
Requirements
Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution.
Minimum of three (3) years of supervision as a vocational program administrator in higher education and two (2) years of teaching experience at the high school or college level.
Knowledge of budgeting, program planning, monitoring instructional programs, and leadership theory and techniques to guide and motivate staff and students.
Comprehensive knowledge of educational curriculum and program development, and current educational theories and practices.
Ability to present ideas, facts, opinions, and information in written form accurately and clearly.
Ability to work effectively with a diverse and multicultural student body and staff.
Knowledge of problem identification and resolution techniques.
