Overview
The Bursar’s Office at NYMC is seeking a detail-oriented
Part-Time Accountant
to provide support in managing student accounts and related financial processes. This position is covered under the 1199 union agreement and offers flexible scheduling within a 10-hour weekly commitment.
Responsibilities
Make outbound phone calls and respond to incoming inquiries regarding student accounts.
Answer emails promptly and professionally.
Post insurance charges accurately to student accounts.
Perform electronic filing and maintain organized records.
Run and review financial and account-related reports for accuracy.
Prepare and send communications to students regarding account status and balances.
Qualifications Education requirement:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
Technical/computer skills:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with Banner or similar student information systems preferred.
Prior experience:
Prior experience in accounting, billing, or a bursar’s office environment is a plus.
Other skills/requirements:
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent communication skills (phone and email).
Minimum Salary USD $28.80/Hr. Maximum Salary USD $29.37/Hr.
