White Sands, a HumanGood life plan community (CCRC) in beautiful La Jolla, CA, is seeking a full-time AM Shift Certified Med Tech. Shifts Full‑time – 6:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. 4/2 rotation.
Pay Range $23.00–$25.00 per hour.
Responsibilities
Engage in our philosophy for “Person‑Directed Care.”
Provide effective and courteous service to all residents, family members, guests, and team members; be clear in communication and handle conflicts appropriately.
Assist resident with prescribed medications and maintain related medical records under supervisor.
Verify identity of resident receiving medication and record drug, dosage, route, and time of administration on specified forms or records.
Present medication to resident and observe ingestion or other application, or administer medication, using specified procedures according to local state guidelines.
Ensure safe, accurate assistance with resident medication, including physician order verification, pharmacy interaction, and checking medications for accuracy.
Review and complete the Medication Administration Record (MAR) to record physician orders and medications.
Document reasons prescribed drugs are not administered.
Assist resident’s medication in a timely manner as prescribed by physician’s orders.
Take vital signs or observe resident to detect response to medications and prepare report or notify designated personnel of unexpected reactions (only as allowed by state regulation).
Facilitate medication orders as required.
Monitor stock of medical supplies and order new supplies as needed.
Complete weekly audits of MARS and notify Director or supervisor of audit results and needed corrective action.
Document appropriate daily records in the resident’s charts.
Collect lab specimens and take vital signs as needed.
Respond to emergency situations.
Report acute observations to appropriate party (Physician, Director of Wellness, Director of Residential Care, AL Charge Nurse).
Chart observations, evaluations and relevant resident conditions.
Assist the Licensed Nurse with clinic administrative duties as assigned.
Attend in‑service training workshops and meetings as required.
Promote and protect the rights of each resident.
Complete incident reports as needed.
Act as a resource to the Director of Wellness, Director of Residential Care, Residential Care Nurse, and/or AL Charge Nurse.
Perform other necessary functions and duties as assigned by leadership.
