A Brief Overview Accountable for developing, organizing and monitoring a quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) and Infection Control plan for hospital and/or long‑term care; in accordance with current Federal, State and Local standards, guidelines and regulations. Role will also work scheduled shifts as needed in hospital and/or long‑term care.
What you will do
Assist in developing and guide the implementation of the annual QAPI plan, including goal setting.
Help ensure staff integration into the QAPI process through Continuous Quality Improvement education and develop opportunities for input. Participate in orientation.
Report data and information in the manner and at the time intervals specified by CMS and the State agency pertaining to participant care activities and outcomes.
Review, investigate, and analyze grievances incorporating issues into development of Quality Improvement initiatives and annual QAPI plan.
Compile and present healthcare-associated infection statistics to the Quality and Infection Control meetings. Assist in development of agendas and act as a meeting facilitator.
Investigate outbreaks and changes in rates as appropriate. Assist in evaluating outcomes and processes to identify opportunities for performance improvement.
Assure compliance with federal and state regulatory agencies. Work cooperatively with public health infrastructure including communicable disease reporting.
Oversee the operations of the infection prevention, facility hygiene and relevant safety programs. Accountable for surveillance of healthcare‑acquired and community‑acquired infections.
Accountable to work as a staff nurse in long‑term care and/or hospital setting on a regular scheduled basis. Act as trauma coordinator for the facility per facility need.
Assist the Long Term Care Director of Nursing with the day‑to‑day management and longer‑term planning of the patient care area; direct and develop staff; collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary professional staff to achieve optimal resident results and outcomes.
