Overview

Purpose: Provides patient focused customer service. Performs outpatient and/or inpatient registration and insurance verification functions; collects patient financial liability payments and ensures that patients meet financial requirements including Medicare medical necessity, payer pre-certifications and referrals. Provides general information to hospital users, patients, families and physician offices. Employment

Day Shift Responsibilities

Performs outpatient and/or inpatient registration and insurance verification functions. Collects patient financial liability payments and ensures patients meet financial requirements. Verifies eligibility and benefits, including Medicare medical necessity and payer pre-certifications and referrals. Provides general information to hospital users, patients, families and physician offices. Researches, collects and analyzes information; identifies opportunities, develops solutions, and leads through resolution. Collaborates on performance improvement activities as indicated by outcomes in program efficiency and patient experience. Distributes analytical reports as part of the role. Utilizes multiple system applications to perform analysis, create reports and develop educational materials. Maintains a working knowledge of applicable laws, compliance programs and policies to ensure ethical and safe work practices. Qualifications

Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent. HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA required within one year of hire. Medical terminology required and knowledge of diagnostic and procedural coding (nice to have). Insurance verification with the ability to explain benefits and secure necessary authorizations. Our Commitment
