Job Overview
This is a part‑time position. The primary responsibility is to take excellent care of our customers by satisfying each customer's needs, exceeding their expectations, and making every shopping visit a pleasant and satisfying experience. This requires accurately and efficiently operating the cash register, providing various services at the customer service counter, and maintaining security and control of all funds in the cash register.
Core Responsibilities
Perform duties of floor monitor when one is not assigned to be on‑duty. May be assigned to be the on‑duty floor monitor.
Perform the duties of cashier and bagger when appropriate.
Operate the cash register accurately and efficiently.
Requirements
At least 16 years of age.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
Ability to write simple correspondence in English.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Willingness to participate in and successfully complete required training and to work with the team to increase customer satisfaction and sales.
Ability to add and subtract two‑digit numbers and to calculate a discount % amount using American currency.
Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed but uncomplicated written or oral instructions.
Certificates, Licenses, Training Complete company’s training including but not limited to: new hire orientation, customer service network, safety, customer service clerk technical skills, floor monitor technical skills.
Physical Demands Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and smell. Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds with a reach of 6–48 inches, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds with a reach of 6–72 inches. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color and depth perception.
Work Environment The environment occasionally includes wet, humid, and moving mechanical parts. Exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and extreme cold may occur. Noise level is usually moderate.
