Position Description Overview
As an Applebee's® Assistant Manager, you will be engaged in all aspects of the day-to-day operations at the restaurant. You are responsible for getting guests and staff passionate about their experience every day at Applebee's®. You will need to be a team leader, excellent problem solver, handle stress and rise above. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Ensure timely, friendly service according to company guidelines, achieving established objectives of the unit. Cultivate a culture in accordance with Flynn Applebee's Premier Card of our core values and beliefs. Ensure immediate response and correction of all verbal guest complaints to self and staff. Ensure guest contact as a priority with completion of required table visits established by Flynn Applebee's standards. Maintain departmental inventory levels. Ensure product preparation and presentation meet company standards by performing line checks. Effectively schedule employees to meet sales demands. Maintain effective safety and security programs. Promote and lead restaurant organization, cleanliness and sanitation. Perform routine maintenance and report needed repairs to the General Manager/Area Director. Promote quality recruitment and referrals of potential team members and management candidates. Promote Flynn | Applebee's training procedures for new managers. Help maintain a trained staff through effective orientation, training sessions, employee meetings and policy implementation. Participate in the development of employees using One-on-One and performance documentation, contributing to written evaluations. Assess employee efficiency, provide regular feedback, and support development. Monitor acceptable employee performance and document situations requiring corrective action. Ensure compliance with company policies, practices and procedures. Control costs in the assigned department. Compliance with local, state and federal laws, regulations and guidelines. Drive bi-weekly/weekly food and liquor inventories as requested and be accountable for completion. Prepare and submit accurate daily paperwork. Ensure sanitation standards meet or exceed Health Department and Flynn Applebee's standards. Provide a role model for managers and employees. Develop self on all store-related technology. Be willing and able to work in all positions and assist in a team member role as needed (e.g., cooking, expo, seating guests, bartending). Engage in Management Development Program for continuous leadership growth. Education and Experience
At least 2-3 years restaurant management experience. Serve Safe Food and Serve Safe Alcohol Certifications are a plus. Physical Standards
Work varied shifts, including weekends. Stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to ten hours. Safely lift up to 50 pounds.
