PETERSEN STUDIO is seeking a highly motivated Landscape Architect to fortify and expand our design practice. As a critical member of the PS team, the candidate should have strong design and project management skills and the desire to become a studio leader.
PETERSEN STUDIO is selective in pursuing commissions that we believe have the capacity to positively impact our shared urban environment while advancing the profession. Our current work consists of public and campus projects along the San Francisco Bayfront, neighborhood parks and streetscapes, and high‑rise residential projects.
Our office is located in the Financial District in downtown San Francisco. We are a hybrid office, but the candidate will work on site (in person), with the opportunity for hybrid work as they become more familiar with the studio.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years Professional Office Experience
Minimum of 2 years Experience in Construction Observation on landscape projects of the same scale and complexity as our work
MLA preferred
Strong design and communication skills
Experience and proficiency in Construction Documentation
Understanding of appropriate level of detail for different phases of design and documentation
Ability to coordinate work with consultants, contractors, and client groups
Experience with landscape architecture projects over structure
Interest in landscape technology and high-quality detailing
Ability to prioritize tasks and track overall project schedule and deadlines
Knowledge of planting, grading, and landscape materiality
