Job Description Innova Solutions is hiring a Senior Java Backend Engineer – Database & Cloud Migration. The role is a full‑time, 18‑month contract based in Chicago, IL, focused on backend development, data‑intensive systems, and cloud modernization.
Responsibilities • Lead the migration of enterprise applications from WebLogic (Java 8) to OpenShift/Kubernetes. • Design, develop, and optimize backend services using Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices architecture. • Develop and maintain stored procedures, optimize queries, and manage database transactions. • Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or similar tools. • Integrate GraphQL services and, when applicable, AI/LLM integrations for advanced features.
Qualifications • 8+ years of Java backend development experience. • Strong database expertise with Oracle or PostgreSQL. • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and OpenShift is a plus. • Prior exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. • Excellent problem‑solving skills and a customer‑focused mindset.

Pay Range: $75 – $85 per hour (based on education, experience, location, duties and certifications)
