We are thrilled that you are interested in exploring opportunities to join our team.Primary Location:MEDGAR EVERS COLLEGEBargaining Unit:NoWe are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Science Tutor to support high school students in mastering key scientific concepts and improving academic performance. The ideal candidate will inspire curiosity, encourage critical thinking, and provide individualized instruction in subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science, and other Science Subjects.* Provide one-on-one and/or small group tutoring to high school students* Develop and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to each student's learning style and goals* Review and explain scientific concepts, lab work, and problem-solving techniques* Help students prepare for classroom exams, standardized tests (e.g., SAT, ACT, AP), and school projects* Monitor student progress and communicate regularly with parents, teachers, or academic coordinators* Foster a supportive and motivating learning environment* Facilitate Liberty Partnerships Program Assessments and other LPP tasks as needed* Other duties as assigned**Qualifications*** High School Degree* Some College Preferred* Experience working with students preferred* Experience with one of the Science-related fields (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science, etc.).* Prior experience teaching or tutoring high school students preferred* Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills* Ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and engaging way* Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine interest in helping students succeed**Preferred skills:*** Experience with New York City High School Science curricula* Familiarity with virtual tutoring platforms (Zoom, Google Meet, etc.)Pay Range:$17.00 - $17.00/hour**RFCUNY Benefits****Equal Employment Opportunity Statement**

RFCUNY’s services allow CUNY researchers, faculty, and staff to focus on their intellectual curiosity and scientific discoveries, on projects and programs that serve our local and global communities, proposing concrete solutions to society’s most pressing challenges.

RFCUNY serves as a fiscal agent and works closely with all the CUNY campus Grants Offices to perform the core functions of post-award financial management for CUNY research projects and sponsored programs. These functions include legal assessment and signing of agreements where RFCUNY is named as a fiscal agent; setting up award accounts; preparing sub-awards and assisting PIs in monitoring the work of the recipients of sub-awards; supporting project directors with hiring and managing research project and sponsored program staff; supporting the purchasing and paying for goods and services with grant and program funds; managing financial aspects of projects including accounts receivable, financial reporting, invoicing, budget monitoring, and cost compliance with uniform guidance; ensuring that sponsor financial requirements are met; monitoring compliance with applicable project and financial management rules and laws; supporting the management of independent and external audits and financial reviews; and providing data, information, management expertise, and other supports to CUNY’s research and sponsored programs. #J-18808-Ljbffr
