Location: Covering residential homes in Somerset, Devon, Cornwall, Torquay, Plymouth & Dorset.

About us Cambian Group, the UK's largest provider of specialist services in children’s residential care, education, mental health rehabilitation and learning disabilities, is looking for a dedicated individual to join as a Mental Health Practitioner. The post requires previous experience of working in CAMHS settings, specifically within Looked After Children services.

Main duties of the job

Provide specialist assessments of children and young people in the residential setting.

Formulate and implement therapeutic intervention and management plans based on evidence‑based practice, in collaboration with the wider multidisciplinary team.

Supervise other Mental Health Practitioners, clinical psychology trainees, healthcare students, and assistants where required.

Deliver direct therapeutic work, care planning and management in partnership with residential and care staff.

Job responsibilities The role includes providing a therapeutic service to young people placed within community residential settings by assessing and identifying their needs and meeting them through consultation and training to residential and care staff. This involves direct therapeutic work, care planning, and management in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team. Further duties are described in the attached Job Description.

Candidate profile

Registered with the relevant professional organisation (HCPC or NMC).

Strong team player with excellent communication, organisational and time‑management skills.

Enthusiastic, motivated, forward‑thinking with a passion for supporting children and young people.

Previous experience working with children & adolescents is advantageous.

CAMHS experience.
