Position Overview
Whitman College Department of Art is seeking a Visiting Assistant Professor in Printmaking/Book Arts to begin August 2026. Candidates must hold an MFA by the time of appointment and will carry a standard annual teaching load of five undergraduate courses. Responsibilities
Teach a full roster of Printmaking courses (Beginning, Intermediate, Advanced). Contribute to our Foundations program with a thematically‑driven beginner course. Assume teaching responsibility for senior capstone courses in rotation with all art faculty. Maintain a personal studio and office adjacent to the Printmaking studio; supervise student work and studio operations. Qualifications
MFA with demonstrated expertise in Printmaking/Book Arts. College‑level teaching experience; active exhibition and presentation record. Strong knowledge of contemporary theory and practice with a commitment to equity, inclusion, and community engagement. Application Process
