Description At United, we have some of the best aircraft in the world. Our Technical Operations team is full of aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, ground equipment and facilities professionals, and supply chain teams that help make sure they’re well taken care of and ready to get our customers to their desired destinations. Key Responsibilities
Identifying and checking tools, test equipment and certain commodities in and out of the warehouse, as well as the servicing, receiving, cleaning, transportation, inventory storage and accounting of tools, test equipment, parts and commodities used in the daily operation
Perform routine maintenance tasks of general nature, such as servicing and transporting equipment
Light maintenance tasks such as replacing head light/taillights, wiper blades, oil changes, excluding troubleshooting
Routine fluid and vehicle operational inspections
Limited cart and dolly work, excluding welding and major structural repairs
Surface treatment on engines, aircraft, and component parts with chemicals and sandblasting equipment
Automotive and light truck tire build up and servicing
Perform minor repairs on food service equipment
Assist Technicians with work as requested
GSE Utility Specialists are represented by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT)
Salary increases will be administered according to the current IBT/United Contract
New employees are required to join the union
GSE Utility Specialists must be able to work around the clock shifts including weekends and holidays, in the outdoors in all weather conditions
Schedules are bid and awarded according to seniority
Other tasks as assigned and outlined in the CBA
Qualifications What’s needed to succeed:
High school diploma/GED or equivalent
Mechanical competence
Working knowledge of tools associated with aircraft and automotive repair or ability to work with cleaning solutions and chemicals
Strong social skills and the ability to function as a team member in a demanding service environment
Good verbal, written, communication and computer skills
Mobility requirements include lifting, carrying, crawling, and ladder climbing
Must be able to work in confined spaces
Customer focused
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be available to work any shift that is assigned to you within a 24 hour/day, 7 day/week operation which can include late nights, early hours weekends and holidays
Employees may bid for schedules several times a year and schedules are awarded according to seniority
Valid state driver's license and acceptable driving record (suspended, expired, revoked or denied are not considered valid)

Certificate from an accredited trade school
Auto parts inventory experience
The starting rate for this role is $22.11.
