Experiential Brand Director / Brand Experience Director
Boncom is a strategic marketing and consulting agency that exists to solve noble problems, promote positive behavior change, and build relevance for good causes. We develop innovative and strategic campaigns, in traditional, digital, and experiential ways, and are fortunate to work for great cause-oriented organizations that strive to do good in the world. Our purpose-driven client roster spans nonprofits, public health organizations, advocacy groups, and mission-led brands-partners who measure success not only in business outcomes but in meaningful impact. Our staff is comprised of exceptionally talented team members who bring these clients' meaningful messages to life.
We are looking for an Experiential Brand Director to help lead and grow our experiential practice at Boncom. In this role, you'll oversee the design of physical brand experiences—exhibits, installations, and immersive environments—that tell our clients' stories. This position requires someone who can balance big creative ideas with the operational rigor of making things happen. You'll lead projects from concept through installation, managing budgets, timelines, vendors, and cross‑functional teams. You'll be a key client partner and build meaningful relationships. The ideal candidate brings strategic thinking and enthusiasm for leading creative, production, and client teams to make ambitious ideas real.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (Marketing, Communications, Design, Architecture, or equivalent)
8+ years of experience in experiential design, branded environments, or exhibit design
Proven track record of leading physical brand experiences from strategy through delivery, with a portfolio that demonstrates projects you've directed
Strong client management skills with experience presenting to and building relationships with senior stakeholders
Demonstrated experience managing complex projects including budgets, timelines, vendor relationships, and cross‑functional teams
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and sell ideas with confidence
Strategic mindset with the ability to translate brand positioning into spatial storytelling and guest journey design
Working knowledge of experiential design processes, fabrication, and production—enough to direct specialists and contractors effectively
Comfortable leading workshops, creative sessions, and client presentations
Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment and support where needed
Proven leadership capabilities, including fostering collaboration and promoting a positive team culture
Passion for purpose‑driven work and a genuine interest in clients whose missions prioritize social good, behavior change, or public benefit
Nice‑to‑Have Qualifications
Experience with visitor centers, museums, or exhibit installations
Familiarity with immersive technologies (projection mapping, interactive installations, AR/VR elements, etc.)
Understanding of ADA compliance, wayfinding, and universal design principles
Self‑starter who thrives with autonomy and takes ownership of outcomes
Comfortable receiving and applying feedback in a fast‑moving creative environment
Innate curiosity about how people move through and interact with physical spaces
Excellent time management, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
Resourceful, proactive, and energized by turning ambitious ideas into reality
Role Responsibilities
Lead experiential strategy and creative direction for client projects, ensuring alignment with brand goals and audience needs
Develop guest journey frameworks, spatial narratives, and experience concepts that translate brand stories into physical environments
Manage projects end‑to‑end: scoping, budgeting, scheduling, production oversight, and on‑site installation coordination
Direct the work of designers, fabricators, technologists, and other vendors—providing clear creative direction and quality control
Serve as the primary client relationship lead on experiential projects, building trust through responsiveness, strategic counsel, and flawless delivery
Collaborate closely with Boncom's Creative, Strategy, Production, and vendor teams to deliver integrated solutions
Identify and vet vendor partners, negotiate contracts, and manage third‑party relationships throughout project lifecycles
Develop and present compelling decks, proposals, and experience design deliverables
Champion innovation by staying current on trends in experiential marketing, spatial design, immersive technology, and audience engagement
Help grow Boncom's experiential practice by refining processes, building case studies, and mentoring team members
