Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Engineer II - Civil Engineering to join our team in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in general civil engineering, with expertise in designing minor structures, site civil works, detention basins, and related projects. Key Responsibilities
Design and develop civil engineering solutions for minor structures, site civil works, water plant piping, detention basins, and related infrastructure.
Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to support project planning and design.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, contractors, and other engineers, to deliver high-quality solutions.
Perform quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) reviews of designs and deliverables.
Provide technical support during construction, including responding to RFIs (Requests for Information) and resolving design-related issues.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as Parsons' internal standards.
Maintain project documentation and reports to track progress and ensure transparency.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
8 years of experience in general civil engineering, including designing minor structures, site civil works, detention basins, etc.
Proficiency in civil engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, or similar tools).
Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, standards, and best practices.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe.
Experience working on projects in the Houston, TX area, with familiarity with local regulations and standards.
Knowledge of hydrology and hydraulics design principles.
Experience with permitting processes and environmental compliance.
Prefer Water/Wastewater Design experience.
Security Clearance Requirement None. This position is part of our Critical Infrastructure team.
Salary Range $86,700.00 - $151,700.00
