This individual will be responsible for supporting the Upper Extremity by assisting engineers with the lifecycle development of medical devices, including new product development and maintenance of released products. Our ideal candidate would have proficiency in designing products using 3D‑CAD software such as ProEngineer, SolidWorks, or similar modeling tools, along with strong knowledge of MS Office. Familiarity with testing equipment and a solid understanding of design, manufacturing, and inspection methods is preferred. The candidate should be able to interpret engineering specifications and drawing conventions accurately and communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical team members. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Support Project Management by carrying out various private label and kitting projects.
Generate and maintain mechanical models and drawings utilizing computer aided design (CAD) program, according to specifications determined by the engineer.
Assist in the testing of design prototypes and support R&D testing activities of assigned products as assigned.
Support design changes to develop and improve products as well as facilitate manufacturing operations.
Support QA, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Marketing, Suppliers, and Product Management as assigned.
Assist with various aspects of the engineering product development process as assigned.
Assist engineers with the creation, modification, review, and processing of Engineering Change Orders.
Report progress and status of assignments on a timely basis with emphasis on reporting results to supervisor as appropriate.
Skills
Proficiency in designing products using a 3D‑CAD program such as ProEngineer, SolidWorks or other 3D modeling software required.
Knowledge of MS Office required.
Knowledge of testing equipment preferred.
Knowledge of design, manufacturing, and inspection methods and processes.
Ability to understand engineering specifications and drawing conventions.
Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical staff.
Education / Experience
High School Diploma or GED required.
Associate's Degree or some college preferred.
2 years of relevant work experience.
Experience in medical device or manufacturing preferred.
Experience with engineering specification documents and conventions preferred.
Knowledge
Frequent use and general knowledge of industry practices, techniques, and standards.
General application of concepts and principles.
Reasoning Ability
Develops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity.
Refers to policies and practices for guidance.
Discretion / Latitude
Works under very general supervision. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall adequacy and accuracy.
