Job Summary and Qualifications Under the direction of the physicians, the Imaging Manager, this position performs nursing support functions for patients brought to the radiology department. This position works closely with all other healthcare team members to facilitate exceptional patient care and efficient completion of both diagnostic and interventional studies while also promoting optimal unit operations. The Registered Nurse- Radiology adheres to the ICARE values while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This stakeholder must strive to ensure optimal patient safety, security, throughput, and adhere to all applicable regulation and policies.
What you will do
Provide direct nursing care for Radiology patients, including conscious sedation and medication administration.
Assess patient condition and understanding before, during, and after procedures; monitor for physiological changes and report to the physician.
Administer medications as ordered, including narcotics, and maintain accurate documentation in medical records.
Perform post-procedure care and communicate patient status to receiving units using approved hand-off tools.
Maintain and check emergency equipment, crash cart, and medication stock; troubleshoot and report equipment issues as needed.
Respond promptly to Radiology calls (phone within 10 minutes; on-site within 30–45 minutes) and coordinate coverage for multiple areas.
Assist with procedures requiring RN support, including Nuclear Medicine Stress Tests.
Demonstrate competency in all equipment used and ensure compliance with medication management policies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What qualifications you will need
Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
(RN) Registered Nurse
Associate Degree
Other required experience: At least one year of experience in direct patient care, preferably in a Critical Care area, ER
Other preferred experience: 2 years’ experience in Critical Care, Special Procedures Radiology Department, or other procedural area administering Conscious Sedation
