Overview Open hours: Mon-Fri 2:30p-7:30p. DSPs play an important part in helping the people we serve live their best lives with meaning and dignity. DSPs are representatives of Amivie and are expected to create and maintain professional, positive, and nurturing relationships with persons served and established support systems. It is important that DSPs are comfortable and willing to be a vital part of providing individualized care to those we serve.

DSPs provide direct care, skill building support, and offer opportunities to individuals diagnosed with Intellectual Disabilities or Developmental Disabilities, mental health and/or substance abuse in the following areas: motor skills, communication skills, socialization skills, personal self‑care or activities of daily living (ADLs), adaptive behaviors, and the execution of planned active treatment goals, electronic documentation, medication management, feeding/meal preparation, and interaction with individuals.

Responsibilities

Provide assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs); e.g., toileting, feeding, etc., based on individual needs/person‑centered plan.

Administer prescribed medication(s) to identified individual(s) upon completion of training.

Safely transport individuals in company‑approved vehicles (6‑15 passenger van, depending on the program) for community integration.

Complete all required documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) timely.

Prepare meals and snacks provided by the individual and/or family, adhering to their diet.

Assist the individual(s) with goal completion as documented in the individualized support plan.

Actively engage with the individuals in the community.

Uphold, respect, and advocate for individual rights at all times.

Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality and privacy of the individual's information.

Adhere to company policies and core values to foster a professional and supportive environment.

Maintain the health and safety of all individuals while promoting independence and showing respect.

Establish and uphold appropriate professional boundaries in all interactions, ensuring relationships remain ethical, objective, and focused on individual and organizational goals.

Be proficient with technology.

Remain awake and alert for the duration of all shifts.

Perform the physical demands of the position (e.g., lifting, transfers).

Comfortable performing personal care duties.

Training Requirements

Ensure all certifications and training requirements and renewals are met on time.

CPR/FA.

Reactive Strategies/Interventions.

Medication Administration.

Qualifications

Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.

Must be at least 18 years old.

Valid driver's license in good standing.

Reliable transportation.

Successfully complete all background checks.

Successfully complete health screening (TB screening).
