Position Summary
Registered Nurse, Advanced Care – Orlando Health Lake Mary Hospital. RN with endoscopy background; 40 h variable full‑time, 10‑h shift, dayshift; advanced skills for complex inpatient care.
Overview Lake Mary Hospital – 124‑bed acute care, expanding to 240 beds. Full‑scope services: cardiovascular, surgery, orthopedics, labor & delivery, future NICU. State‑of‑the‑art ORs, catheterization labs, interventional radiology, vascular lab, ICU, emergency department.
Responsibilities
Complex assessment and high‑intensity interventions; continuous vigilance.
Anticipate and respond to rapidly changing patient conditions.
Evidence‑based, patient‑focused action; monitor and adjust specialized equipment.
Life‑saving situations per nursing standards and protocol.
Preceptor, charge nurse, unit educator, and nurse clinician roles.
Effective collaboration with medical staff and interdisciplinary team.
Maintain documentation and compliance with all regulations.
Qualifications
Graduate of an approved nursing school; meets all Orlando Health competency requirements.
State of Florida RN license (or valid multistate eNLC RN license).
BLS/Healthcare Provider certification; ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC required for certain areas; NRP required for NICU.
1 year RN experience (unless approved by an AVP level or above).
Endoscopy experience preferred; emergency department experience acceptable.

Utilize information to anticipate and respond with confidence.
Prioritize evidence‑based, patient‑focused action.
Monitor and adjust specialized equipment; interpret electronic displays.
Respond to life‑saving situations per protocol.
Assess needs and develop individualized care plans.
Respects diversity and advocates for patients and families.
Serve as preceptor, charge nurse, unit educator, and/or nurse clinician.
Collaborate with medical staff and interdisciplinary team.
Maintain documentation consistent with regulatory standards.
Communicate patient condition and unit concerns to the team.
Demonstrate caring practices and awareness of legal issues.
Support professional development and transition of new team members.
Maintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
Other Related Functions
Contribute to continuous quality improvement of health care practice.
Participate in unit‑level and organizational nursing committees.
Mentor and coach regarding professional practice.
Practice efficient use of supplies and maintain a clean, safe work area.
Attend staff development, department meetings, and nursing committee meetings.
Partner with nursing leadership to identify professional development needs.
Assume responsibility for ongoing professional development and continuing education.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
