Decatur, IL 62526 Pay Range:

$19–$20/hr Schedule:

Swing Shift

2 days: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

2 days: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM

1 day: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Summary

Perform laboratory testing on in-process and finished products to ensure quality and purity

Identify and report results that fall outside specifications

Support production and quality teams through accurate testing and clear communication

Key Responsibilities

Collect, label, organize, and deliver samples to the Central Analytical Lab.

Perform lab tests per documented procedures and GMP/HACCP standards.

Review and report results; communicate deviations to Operations.

Verify lab instruments daily and record results in computerized systems.

Maintain product samples for confirmation testing.

Monitor Critical Control Point equipment, including routine visits to packaging lines.

Maintain lab cleanliness and track testing supplies and ingredients.

Communicate effectively during shift handoffs with other lab technicians.

Cleaning & Sanitation Duties

Inspect equipment for cleanliness prior to production.

Collect and analyze ATP swabs.

Communicate re-cleaning needs to Operations and Sanitation.

Coordinate with Quality for final equipment approval.

Document all cleaning and swab results.

Processing Area Requirements

No jewelry, false nails, or false eyelashes.

Plain wedding bands and medical alert jewelry permitted.

Work Requirements

Weekend, holiday, and overtime work as scheduled.

Vacation allowed with advance notice and proper coverage.

Must follow all safety, food safety, and environmental policies.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.

Previous analytical lab experience preferred.

Ability to read, write, and speak English; basic math skills.

Strong organization, attention to detail, and communication skills.

Basic computer skills (MS Office and lab instrument software).

Reliable attendance and willingness to learn.

Physical & Environmental Requirements

Stand, walk, or sit for extended periods.

Lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly.

Bend, kneel, climb stairs, and work from heights.

Safely handle chemicals per Safety Data Sheets.

Possible exposure to chemicals and food allergens.
