Registered Nurse (RN) – Medicine Stroke/Step Down Unit
Sentara Princess Anne Hospital, located in Virginia Beach, Virginia, is hiring Registered Nurses to join our Intermediate Care / Medicine Stroke Team.

Overview:
The Registered Nurse is responsible for performing competent nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation. The RN maintains professional performance standards such as ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health. Clinical knowledge and skills meet specialty-specific standards.
Unit Details:
Our unit is a 24-bed certified stroke unit serving intermediate care patients with a mix of medical specialties. We assist nurses in obtaining the National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification and use portable telemetry monitors for patient monitoring.
Position Details
Full Time; 36 hours per week
Day Shift; 7 am – 7 pm (First shift)
Education
RN–Associate’s Degree, or
RN–Bachelor’s Degree, or
RN–Diploma, or
RN–Master’s Degree
License and Certification
Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing
Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire
Experience
