Job Summary The RN follows the ANA Standard for Professional Nurse and Code of Ethics. Records patients\' medical history and symptoms, supports diagnostic tests and results analysis, operates medical equipment, administers treatments and medications, and assists with follow-up and rehabilitation. Establishes and contributes to a care plan, including intravenous access, administration of therapies, monitoring, and coordination with physicians and other clinicians. Educates patients and families on illness management, post-treatment and home care needs, nutrition, exercise, and self-administration of medications. Provides direction to licensed practical nurses and nursing aides as appropriate. Supports clinical knowledge advancement, precepts new hires and students, and helps others achieve competency goals. Maintains ongoing knowledge of nursing practice and participates in creating a healthy work environment. Applies theory-based, evidence-based nursing within a Shared Governance framework. For stroke patients, demonstrates knowledge of stroke symptoms, protocols, NIHSS, Stroke alerts, quality indicators, and available patient education materials and resources. Essential Functions Collects health data in a systematic, ongoing manner, prioritizing according to patient condition and involving the family. Analyzes assessment data to develop, implement, evaluate, and revise a family-centered, developmentally appropriate, and culturally relevant plan of care. Implements care plans with timely interventions, medications, emergency and resuscitative measures as allowed by standing orders and procedures. Delivers comprehensive care addressing physical, emotional, spiritual, and social-cultural needs using a family-centered approach. Evaluates progress toward outcomes, documents observations and interventions, and ensures quality and cost-effective care delivery to improve patient outcomes. Continuously evaluates personal nursing practice against professional standards and regulations, maintaining up-to-date knowledge. Fosters ethical practice and cultural competency. Collaborates with multidisciplinary team and supports professional development, mentoring peers, and contributing to a positive practice environment. Participates in evidence-based practice and quality improvement initiatives; contributes to standards of care and applies research to practice as appropriate. Considers safety, effectiveness, and cost when planning and delivering patient care, utilizing resources efficiently. Bachelor\'s degree in nursing (BSN) - Preferred All Diploma and ADN hires must complete a BSN within 60 months of hire OR have 5+ years RN experience at hire (including direct or indirect care) - Required Associate\'s degree or Diploma in Nursing; stroke patients education requirements per addendum prior to start - Required Experience

10+ months med-surg or acute specialty setting - Required 1 year RN experience for all Float Positions - Required Licenses and Certifications

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Registered Nurse (RN) State Licensure in Arizona or Compact State - Required National certification for unit-specific patient population - Preferred Seniority level
