We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Admissions Registered Nurse to join our team, working three 12‑hour shifts from 12 PM to 12 AM, to provide exceptional patient care and support during critical hours.
Orientation: 2 weeks required, Monday‑Friday 8:30 AM‑5:00 PM.
Rockford Center is a 138‑bed mental health facility located in Newark, DE, providing a full complement of inpatient and partial behavioral health programs for children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. Rockford is the only child inpatient behavioral health facility in DE and serves New Castle County and northern Maryland.
Position Summary The Admissions Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct nursing care to patients as prescribed by the physician, under the direction and supervision of the facility’s nursing leadership. The Admissions RN ensures that nursing care is specific to the age population served and adheres to the State Nurse Practice Act and facility policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
Conduct ongoing and individualized nursing care duties as assigned and as dictated by the patient’s condition in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols.
When administering PRN medications, assess for confirmed med for PRN, document need (rationale) and its effectiveness in the medical record.
Report changes in patient physical, mental status or episodes of seclusion or restraint to nurse manager or supervisor during each shift.
Ensure family and physician notification is completed and documented if a patient is transported to Emergency Room, Injured, Falls or is placed in seclusion or restraints.
Collaborate with other team members in the development, implementation, and evaluation of an individualized plan of care.
Perform treatments and therapies as ordered by physician in an appropriate and timely fashion.
Document patient care, findings, and psychosocial responses to nursing interventions.
Document PRN medications given, reason and effect.
Initiate emergency measures according to age‑appropriate CPR and client resuscitation protocols.
Participate in emergency crisis interventions according to age‑appropriate techniques.
Maintain confidentiality related to patient, family, client facility and staff in accordance with HIPAA. Provide patient care in a non‑judgmental, non‑discriminatory manner that considers cultural diversity and age appropriateness so that autonomy, rights, and dignity are preserved.
Qualifications
Current license to practice nursing in DE (or eligible to receive or renew).
New graduates encouraged to apply! Excellent orientation and mentor program available.
Current CPR.
