Duties, Responsibilities & Other Key Responsibilities
Lead teams to conduct underwater inspections of various structures, including bridges, barges, piers, wharves, marinas, ports, bulkheads, and seawalls.
Perform condition inspections and quality control inspections for construction projects.
Engage in structural design and analysis of marine structures.
Prepare detailed technical reports and oversee the plan development process from concept through final construction plans for new structures, rehabilitations, and repairs.
Manage projects effectively, ensuring completion on schedule and within budget.
Required Knowledge And Skills
Comprehensive understanding of all facets of commercial diving and ADCI requirements for surface‑supplied air diving.
Proficiency in structural engineering, design, analysis, and bridge condition inspection is highly desirable.
Experience with bridge, waterfront, and/or dam projects is preferred.
Additional Qualifications
Proven project management experience with a track record of successful project delivery.
Certification by the Association of Diving Contractors International (ADCI) is required.
Professional Engineering License for the designated state is required.
National Highway Institute (NHI) Bridge Inspection certification is a plus.
Valid driver’s license is required.
Travel up to 50% of the time is a requirement of this position.
TWIC card is preferred.
Boating Safety Certificate is preferred.
Qualifications Education and/or Work Experience Required
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (AEC Industry).
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
Proven experience in planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring engineering projects.
Proven experience in project management roles, with a track record of successful project delivery.
Strong organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
Knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to construction management, quality assurance, and safety protocols.
Strong problem‑solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions in a fast‑paced environment.
Education And/or Work Experience Preferred
Master’s Degree.
Certificates, Licenses, And/or Registrations Required
Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.).
Pre‑employment drug screening and background check are conditions of employment. Motor vehicle checks may be required based on position.
