Senior Technical Designer – NYC Alliance
NYC Alliance seeks a highly skilled Technical Designer with extensive experience working with Walmart to join our dynamic product development team. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of fit, construction, and technical specifications across multiple categories, and have the ability to communicate clearly with factories, cross‑functional partners, and retail technical teams. This role is essential in ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality, fit consistency, and brand integrity from initial development through production. Key Responsibilities
Develop technical packages for fit sample development in all categories
Evaluate fit samples, pre‑production, and TOP samples for specs, quality, and workmanship
Maintain consistency of product fit, technical specifications, and development processes across brands
Participate in fittings with designers and merchandisers on live models and body forms
Prepare fit comments for factories, providing technical comments, illustrations, and photos
Maintain a product library for future reference
Correspond with factory and retailer technical staff daily to solve problems
Work with Production to follow up on approval comments and meet delivery expectations
Act as liaison between Design, Sales, Production, and Factory to ensure samples are made to correct specifications
Log into vendor websites to update and retrieve information
Plan fit schedules with models and designers; update and maintain department fit logs
Qualifications
7+ years of experience in Men’s/Women’s technical design
Expertise in assembling detailed technical packages for factories
Proven experience in fittings and assigning points of measure
Ability to establish appropriate grade rules for all points of measure
Highly organized with experience in all phases of technical design
Strong collaboration skills with cross‑functional teams
Excellent written and verbal communication
Strong prioritization and deadline management with high sense of urgency
Proficiency with PLM is a plus
