Job Description
As a Senior Engineering Technician for BLE you will work under the immediate supervision of a registered professional engineer. You will collaborate with construction site managers and engineers to lead a team of 10 to 15 junior ETs performing inspections and sampling services critical to quality assurance in construction projects. Key responsibilities include collecting concrete, soil, and site materials for testing; monitoring contractor activities during onsite testing; and reporting earthwork, soil construction, foundation/subgrade evaluation, reinforced steel, concrete placements, masonry, and asphalt testing. You will write and review detailed daily reports, summarizing test results and site observations.
Minimum Job Requirements
5+ years of Special Inspections Technician experience and 2 years of supervisory experience, or 10+ years of experience in lieu of certifications.
High School Diploma or GED.
Valid driver’s license with 3 years of clean driving history.
Ability to work outdoors on a construction site in all seasons and weather conditions for extended periods.
Self‑motivated and able to work independently while completing scheduled tasks.
Effective verbal and written communication skills with team members, BLE leadership, clients, local, state, and federal authorities.
Attention to detail and time‑management skills.
Active certifications required: ACI 1, ICC Soils Inspector, ICC Reinforced Concrete, ICC Masonry Special Inspector.
Basic knowledge of smartphones and computers for communication and record‑keeping (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
Physical ability to stand, walk, kneel, stoop, bend, lift (50 lbs), tug, and pull on unstable, unpaved ground.
