The Opportunity The Financial Services Officer is responsible for opening new accounts and performing maintenance with accuracy, efficiency, and professionalism, meeting the high‑quality service delivery standards of the Bank. The Senior Financial Services Officer responds to the needs of both internal and external customers, maintains a thorough knowledge of Bank services and products, and introduces them as appropriate. Incumbents are typically experienced in New Accounts and can handle the full range of retail and commercial transactions, performing all duties in accordance with Company policies, U.S. state and federal laws, and regulations.

How You’ll Make a Difference

Handle all facets of new accounts, including opening, superseding, maintenance, research projects, ordering checks and notary services.

Cross‑sell Banc of California products and services through knowledge of services and customer needs.

Assist with daily and monthly audits and certifications; prepare documentation for new accounts under the Bank’s CIP/BSA and other Bank policies.

Maintain a high‑level knowledge of legal documentation required for various entity types.

Comprehend complicated new account deals and handle complex client requests independently.

Input new accounts on ITI and submit complete packages.

Serve as a backup to other operational duties, including teller support and assistance to the Branch Operations Manager and Branch Manager.

Provide assistance with end‑of‑day closing, including cash balancing (vault & ATM).

Assist with processing and scanning of daily teller work.

Maintain knowledge of treasury management products and identify cross‑sell opportunities.

Help train and onboard new team members.

Participate in and contribute to the branch’s overall goals.

What You’ll Bring

1 year in new accounts preferred.

2 years in Branch Banking Operations.

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Solid understanding of Treasury Management, including wire procedures and policies.

Solid understanding of all key branch systems; basic end‑user knowledge of Word and Excel required.

Detailed and accurate, with ability to organize and prioritize.

Operational responsibility; fluency in Spanish beneficial but not required.

Ability to ask questions, listen, assess needs, and match products.

Responsive and capable of establishing internal and external relationships.

Polished communication style; articulate confidently and influence as primary client contact.

Takes initiative, stays current on new products, and acts with minimal information.

Problem‑solving with minimal direction and manages multiple concurrent tasks.

Accountability for handling appropriate risk and making decisions at the appropriate level.

Salary Range The base salary ultimately offered is determined through a review of education, industry experience, training, knowledge, skills, abilities, and market data.
