Position Overview We are seeking a
Fiber Technician
with experience in fiber optic installation, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and have a solid understanding of industry best practices.
Essential Duties
Install, splice, terminate, and test fiber optic cables using appropriate tools and techniques
Perform OTDR, power meter, and other standard testing to verify fiber optic cable integrity
Interpret network diagrams, blueprints, and construction drawings
Troubleshoot and repair fiber issues in both aerial and underground environments
Work in various field environments, including confined spaces and elevated locations
Maintain tools, equipment, and work vehicles in proper working condition
Complete job-related paperwork, including daily reports, test results, and fiber assignments
Adhere to all safety procedures and company policies
Communicate with supervisors, project managers, and clients effectively
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in fiber optic installation and maintenance
Proficiency with fiber splicing tools, OTDRs, and other testing equipment
Strong understanding of fiber networks, color codes, and troubleshooting methods
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various field conditions
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as needed
