Rehabilitation Therapy Technician Supervisor (RTT Supervisor) Location: Brenham, TX 77833

Agency: Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC).

Salary Range: $3,649.83 - $4,594.50 per month.

Shift: Day. Regular / Temporary: Regular. Full Time / Part Time: Full time. Nonexempt.

Responsibilities The RTT Supervisor oversees therapeutic programs administered by RTTs and other assigned staff. Ensures qualified staff are hired, trained, mentored and evaluated for an assigned therapeutic specialty (e.g., music therapy, therapeutic recreation, dance/movement therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, psychology, adaptive living skills, functional life skills, pre‑vocational skills, or vocational/day programs). Provides assistance to therapists in developing treatment plans. Oversees, monitors and provides instruction/training regarding the implementation of treatment plans for assigned therapeutic specialty to RTTs and direct care staff. Ensures the satisfactory completion of required reports and notes by RTTs and other assigned staff. Ensures relevant information is communicated effectively to the interdisciplinary team. Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a state vehicle may be required. Works under the limited supervision of a Registered Therapist, Psychologist, Director of Education and Training, or Vocational/Day Programming Supervisor with considerable latitude for initiative and independent judgment.

Essential job functions include but are not limited to:

Attend work on a regular basis, may be required to work specific shift or rotating schedule; may serve on‑call status.

Assist Registered Therapist, Psychologist, Behavior Health Specialist, or Vocational/Day Programming Supervisor in development and evaluation of treatment plans.

Monitor implementation of program objectives by direct contact staff and RTTs.

Schedule and conduct staff training and oversight to RTTs and direct contact staff.

Ensure documentation of treatment is completed satisfactorily.

Participate in interdisciplinary team process, provide information on functional skills assessments and interventions.

Ensure collection and completion of data related to treatment plans.

Hire, supervise and train RTTs and other staff, maintain skills.

Participate in supporting roles for disaster response or continuity of operations activation.

Qualifications | Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge and skills in relevant therapeutic techniques.

Ability to train staff in treatment methods.

Effective oral and written communication; prepare concise reports.

Assist in development of treatment and support plans.

Develop and maintain data collection systems for assigned therapeutic specialty.

Utilize personal computers and relevant software.

General knowledge of ICF‑IID regulations.

Meet physical requirements.

Skill with equipment, tools, materials for therapeutic activities.

Collaborate cooperatively with others.

Provide rehabilitation therapy and supervise others.

Required Credentials

Valid Texas driver’s license (must be obtained within 90 days of hire).

At least two years working with people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities or performing therapeutic work.

High school diploma or equivalency preferred.

Preferred (but not required)

College coursework in behavioral sciences, education, or related areas.

Experience in applied behavior analysis, sensory integration, music therapy, therapeutic recreation, dance/movement therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, psychology, or vocational rehabilitation.

Experience in development of treatment and support plans for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Experience providing active treatment in a vocational or day programming environment.

Experience in vocational specialty.

Additional Information Applicants must pass a fingerprint criminal background check, pre‑employment drug screen, and registry checks including CANRS, LEIE.

Flexibility in work hours may be required; may need overtime and extended hours, weekends and holidays.

Random drug testing is required for all State Supported Living Center Employees.
