HR Coordinator – Senior Home Care Compensation: $55,000 – $60,000 / yr (base salary)

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Type: Full-time, in person

Position Overview The HR Coordinator at Visiting Angels is responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources management within the agency, with a strong focus on caregiver recruitment, retention, compliance, and employee relations. This role ensures that the agency has a reliable, qualified, and motivated workforce to provide exceptional home care to seniors and veterans. The HR Coordinator serves as a culture builder, policy enforcer, and problem solver who aligns HR strategies with agency goals.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Onboarding: Develop and execute recruitment strategies to attract qualified caregivers and office staff; manage job postings; screen resumes; coordinate hiring decisions; oversee onboarding process.

Employee Retention & Engagement: Implement caregiver engagement initiatives; conduct regular caregiver satisfaction surveys; address employee concerns proactively.

Training & Development: Oversee compliance with caregiver training requirements; coordinate continuing education opportunities; support office staff professional development.

Compliance & Employee Relations: Maintain compliance with employment laws; ensure accurate record keeping; manage employee relations, investigations, corrective actions.

Benefits & Payroll Administration: Administer employee benefits programs; support payroll processing; respond to employee questions related to pay, benefits, leave policies.

HR Strategy & Reporting: Track and report on key HR metrics; provide recommendations to leadership based on workforce analytics.

Skills & Qualifications

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.

Preferred: 3-5 years of HR experience, preferably in healthcare, home care, or service-based industries.

Strong knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and caregiver credentialing requirements.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.

Ability to balance empathy with firmness in employee relations.

Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency in HRIS, scheduling software, and other management tech.
