This opportunity sits within a specialized middle-market property insurance division known for its strong underwriting discipline and close broker partnerships. The group is focused on evolving coverage offerings to better address changing client needs while maintaining a long-term, relationship-driven approach. Products and services are delivered exclusively through a select broker network and supported by close collaboration between underwriting and engineering professionals. Role Summary

The Production Underwriter is responsible for building and managing a profitable commercial property portfolio while maintaining strong relationships with brokers and reinsurance partners. Working closely with risk engineering colleagues, this role evaluates both new and renewal opportunities to ensure appropriate risk selection, pricing, and coverage structure. Candidates at varying experience levels are encouraged to apply, as responsibilities may be tailored for mid-level or more senior professionals. Key Responsibilities

Partner with risk engineering teams to assess new and renewal business opportunities Evaluate property risks to ensure appropriate selection, pricing, and alignment with underwriting guidelines Build and maintain strong broker and market relationships through regular outreach and engagement Meet defined performance targets related to growth, retention, and portfolio profitability Execute a consistent external marketing plan, including an average of ten broker-facing meetings per month Travel as needed for broker engagement, training, and business development, including out-of-state travel Pre‑screen new submissions by analyzing financial strength, loss history, values, coverage terms, and long‑term risk potential Protect company assets by adhering to underwriting standards, including capacity decisions, catastrophe exposure management, cross‑liability review, and reinsurance coordination Negotiate pricing, terms, conditions, and commissions in alignment with company objectives Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience Two to five years of experience in commercial property underwriting within an insurance carrier or brokerage environment Exposure to a broad range of property occupancies and familiarity with current underwriting and risk engineering considerations Ability to quickly adapt to evolving industry standards, coverage forms, and best practices Strong organizational, analytical, decision‑making, and problem‑solving skills Effective interpersonal and consultative selling abilities Proficiency with standard business software applications Please note:
