ABOUT THE ROLE The Logistics Manager will lead a seasoned team within the Ready Mix Concrete organization supporting a growing customer‑centric culture while balancing cost efficiency and the needs of an on‑time delivery‑based customer.
You will be expected to provide leadership to handle complex customer situations and escalation concerns and determine resolution related to the order placement and scheduling processes.
Candidates must possess the ability to facilitate communication between the plant, field, drivers, and dispatch center with accuracy and timeliness, all while managing the day‑to‑day activities within the distribution center within the framework of established policies and procedures.
The LM will ensure that our Carriers meet the Amrize established safety requirements that span the entire scope from onboarding to customer deliveries.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
Responsible for driving down cost at every opportunity. Focus on maximizing savings and value while eliminating loss or excess cost.
Monitors work to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction; reviews order entry and assesses schedule to optimize driver productivity.
Develop carrier cost strategy based on market conditions (soft or tight).
Intervenes in complex customer service situations where dialogue with the customer has escalated to high management levels within the customer organizations or where issues are beyond the expertise of the company.
Responsible for ensuring order processing and dispatch accuracy and timeliness. Provides day‑to‑day oversight for Dispatch Center team.
Fully accountable to leverage regional market expertise to propose solutions for changing conditions, complex/emergency situations with speed and accuracy.
Proactively identify strategic network opportunities; collaborate/leverage best practices and solutions between regions.
Perform market test to gain visibility on current transportation costs to ensure pricing is aligned with market conditions. Ability to complete Root Cause Analysis and implement changes to prevent issues from reoccurring.
Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas. Continuously strive to successfully engage our carriers, extended teams and customers, in a manner that promotes safety, service, confidence and communication that will lead to results‑based accountability.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR Education:
Bachelor's degree or 10 years of equivalent experience
Additional Education Preferred:
Master’s degree
Field of Study Preferred:
Business, Engineering or Logistics
Required Technical Skills:
Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Travel Requirements:
up to 10% in the region
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit test.
